I am a good fit for clients who are seeking an active therapist. I work well with clients who are motivated for self-exploration and behavioral change. I believe therapy offers clients an opportunity to explore discomfort, emotional pain, and discover how to live more authentically. During college years, living away from home often for the first time can be challenging. Introduction to new theories and perspectives as well as people from different backgrounds can be anxiety provoking, shaking up what was previously thought to be "truths." Many college students find themselves reworking their sense of self, wanting to become their best most authentic self.

I help college students, especially men, identify their thoughts and feelings so they can pursue what they value and communicate more effectively with the important people in their life. I have almost 10 years of experience working with people to figure out what's important and pursue it in a way that builds confidence and improves well-being.
You want better relationships with your partner, your family, and most importantly, with yourself. Although you've found success in many areas of life, you're struggling to adjust to a recent life change like a move to a new place, the birth of a child, or the start or end of an important relationship. Maybe you've found yourself experiencing more stress than you're used to, you're close to burnout, or you find it really difficult to prioritize your own sense of well-being over others. If any of this sounds familiar to you, I would love to talk with you and learn more about your goals. I work with adults and couples who are motivated to know themselves in a deeper and more compassionate way, and are ready to experience real success during their time in therapy. Do you feel stuck? Do you feel like you know all the rules and what you are “supposed to do” but somehow can’t get where you want to go? As your therapist, it is my goal to help you feel at home in your mind, body, and heart. I can help deconstruct and shift your “shoulds” into something that feels more authentic and meaningful to you. We also can dig into your past and explore how old coping mechanisms that may have helped at one time are now limiting. I am trained in a myriad of techniques—including mindfulness and EMDR—to gently guide your mind and body back to the present moment to a state of well-being and resiliency. I believe in your innate goodness and will always remind and point this out to you. I cannot tell you what is right/wrong or healthy/unhealthy and I resist being another voice telling you what you are “supposed to do”. My job is to provide a warm and accepting space to not just think and talk but to feel the big emotions. I will ask questions, reflect, and ponder alongside you as we rediscover your inherent wisdom and regain a sense of freedom. My clients tend to be intelligent humans who feel caught in their anxious minds, trauma, or simply desire support in living a more authentic and meaningful life. I work with people suffering from anxiety, perfectionism, life changes and transitions, grief, disordered eating, trauma, panic attacks, binge eating disorder, low self esteem, poor body image, and depression among many more. Let’s connect. I’d love to hear from you. Book a free 20 minute phone consult: https://electra-byers.clientsecure.me

What is your relationship with food like? Is meal time an unavoidable chore, or something you find yourself obsessing over? Maybe the thought of certain foods, or even seeing them in the store sends you into a tailspin. If you work hard to limit your intake, postpone it, or try to eliminate it by any means necessary, you may have an eating disorder (ED). I have extensive knowledge and experience at outpatient, inpatient and residential levels of specialty care for EDs. I’ve come to know that there is no such thing as the “classic patient,” and the manifestation of an ED occurs for everyone at unique times regardless of socioeconomic status, faith, sexuality or race. I can help explore your relationship with nutrition and your body, enhance your strengths and support network, and guide you as you build a foundation of unconditional respect for yourself, that fosters growth and preparedness for the next phase in your life.
At Ellie - Aurora City Center we strive to meet our clients where they're at to help them get where they want to be. We don’t believe people are broken. But we also don’t believe that “fine” is the ceiling of their potential. We believe therapy is part of the ongoing work of being human. Being human is the hardest thing any of us will ever do and while there is no universal map or linear path, billions of people have walked this terrain before and their collective wisdom across multiple dimensions is essential to framing our understanding of ourselves and each other There’s insight, strategy, and perspective available but no one can walk the path for anyone else. Our role as therapists isn’t to dictate or diagnose from a distance. Nor are we passive companions. We walk with our clients, actively supporting their journeys with clarity, accountability, and emotional safety. Therapy is where insight becomes action, and where healing isn’t handed over—it’s created, felt, and lived. We promise to show up, bring our full humanity, and help clients travel their paths with courage and clarity.
Therapy asks us to tap into vulnerable parts of ourselves. It requires safety and comfort. My clients are courageous enough to show up as their authentic selves, therefore I value being my authentic self within our therapeutic relationship. I incorporate empirically supported interventions into our time processing concerns, building self-awareness, making meaningful changes, and exploring identities. I specialize working with individuals who desire to dedicate less time and energy to food and body image concerns, and more time to aspects of life truly important to them. I approach disordered eating and body image work from a Health at Every Size (HAES) framework. I want my clients to “taste life” and to experience it in a fulfilling way. I also have ample experience working with anxiety, depression, grief, relational concerns, life transitions, perfectionism, ADD/ADHD, and athletic identity. I value and enjoy working with diverse populations and strive to create a safe space for individuals of all backgrounds, cultures, and identities. While we may not share identities or experiences, it is my mission as your therapist to approach our work with humility and to gain understanding of your authentic self.

My name is Blanca Martinez Walter and I am a licensed Latina holistic and spiritual therapist, living in Denver, Colorado. I am licensed in both the state of California and Colorado. The fancy title I have earned is Licensed Clinical Social Worker, but I prefer the other title (spiritual therapist). I blend my experience working with Latinx in psychotherapy with my deep interest in spirituality and the mind, body, and soul connection. My therapeutic approach is holistic, incorporating intuition, signs that universe sends you, body awareness, inner child work, and a comprehensive understanding of your past and present experiences to understand how you came to be. In my practice I work with first generation latinas/latinos seeking change, wanting to get more attuned to their intuition, open to looking at past patterns and being challenged, all the while doing so with a therapist that has a cultural background similar to theirs. Common issues addressed in my practice include the effects of childhood parentification, perfectionism, self-care issues, life transitions, grief, relationship challenges, and other issues unique to the first-generation experience. As your therapist, I will be your cheerleader and I will also be that person that challenges you and disagrees with you, because without discomfort there is no growth. I balance both humor, gentleness and disagreement in my therapeutic sessions. And yes, I speak Spanglish. I offer a free 15 min consultation to determine what your needs are going to be, what you are looking for in treatment and with that determine whether we would be a good match. I can offer a special rate for college students of $90 for 45 minutes. *If you are dealing with suicidal thoughts, it may be determined that telehealth is not the option.

Life is hard. Like, really hard. And you're doing all the right things; but you still feel anxious. You can't seem to stop overthinking everything. You are feeling more and more insecure and are worried about feeling like a burden to others. You've tried to rationalize your thinking, but aren't getting anywhere. And now, that inner critic has become so loud and so present, that it's hard to hear or believe anything else. This is what I often hear from clients, and I get it - I've been there too. I understand what it's like to be labelled as "sensitive" and viewing emotions as a weakness. It's hard to figure out how to feel confident in who you are while living up to others' expectations. To feel constantly worried about "doing the right thing" and struggling with feeling "selfish" when you're trying to set boundaries. I help those who are excessively worried, struggling with low self-esteem, and experiencing relational distress gain confidence in being their authentic selves. I help my clients learn how to cope with their emotional experiences while practicing self-compassion. Emotions are not our enemy; in fact, emotions have a purpose. Utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy and mindfulness - I help clients learn how to use their emotions to connect with their inner selves and identify patterns and themes that wreak havoc in their lives. If you find yourself tired of feeling chronically defeated and are ready for change- it's time to start your journey of self-healing and growth.
