I’m Dr. Amy Syper, a licensed psychologist and founder of Strength in Becoming. As a dancer I have seen and experienced the damaging effects of body image distress and eating concerns along with the healing powers of dance. I specialize in eating disorder treatment and have worked with adolescents and adults with eating disorders at all levels of care- from inpatient hospitalization to outpatient therapy. I am passionate about helping clients build a safe and supportive relationship with their body. In addition to “talk therapy” I offer dance/movement therapy sessions to help clients strengthen their mind-body connection, build new insights into emotional experiences, and improve self-esteem. I also have experience working in college counseling centers, supporting individuals with anxiety, depression, relationship stress, identity exploration, ADHD, and executive functioning. Overwhelmed. Stressed Out. ANXIOUS. You keep asking yourself how you are going to get everything done. Being an adult and at college is a lot harder than you every thought. You wish you could feel happy and just have fun in college. But the pressure is on. The social pressure is there. Do you go out with friends or stay in and study? Going out you may have fun but would worry about getting homework done. But staying in you feel lonely, sad, wishing you would have gone out. Making the best decision seems impossible. But it is possible to enjoy college. To have friends. And to get your school work done. You need to learn to develop self trust to make the best decision and how to balance everything you are doing. That's where I come in. I am here to help you move past the anxiety and depression and step into a fun college experience. I will help you discover who you are at your core. Then you will have more confidence to step into the adulting world. I would be honored to be part of your journey to having fun now and gaining confidence to be who you truly are. I really like working with those who feel a bit like an outsider, not quite fitting in. I offer relational, culturally affirming psychotherapy and supervision for individuals seeking depth, support, and authenticity. Grounded in my identity as a Black female relational psychotherapist, my work centers the impact of culture, power, and systemic context on both personal healing and clinical practice. •Group Mentorship for Emerging Practice Owners: I am opening a dedicated space to coach mid-level psychotherapists who are ready to navigate the transition into private practice, blending clinical wisdom with practical business mentorship. •Relational, Culturally Affirming Supervision/Mentorship for Therapists: Appreciating the weight we are all carrying, I am continuing to offer a reflective, iterative space specifically for fellow healers, grounded in a culturally affirming framework. My goal is to "hold the holders" and ensure the next generation of clinicians is as supported and culturally rooted as possible. •Relational, Culturally Affirming Psychotherapy for Therapists: Recognizing the unique weight we carry, I am continuing to offer a therapeutic holding space specifically for fellow healers, grounded in a culturally affirming framework. •Culturally Grounded Organizational Development: I am expanding my work with organizations, providing the high-level training and structural support necessary to create truly equitable and culturally grounded environments. Whether you are seeking individual therapy or individual/group supervision, I aim to offer an affirming, relational space that supports your growth, sustainability, and integrity as both a person and a clinician.
I offer a collaborative, stable and compassionate therapy space to help you find your way - whether it be for transforming anxiety and depression, building skills for more inner stability, finding purpose, healing traumas, restoring connection in relationships, reducing the power of difficult or addictive behaviors, spiritual or existential topics, or achieving specific goals. I like to involve both mind and body whenever we can, especially when it feels like talking isn’t enough. I tend to use Attachment Theory, ACT, Gestalt, compassion-focused and somatic therapy in sessions, and may suggest the Brainspotting technique to work on trauma and other issues. I also offer meditation, breathing & movement exercises to ground or deepen your experience. My wish is to help you contact your own capacities for healing, self-awareness, kindness, and confidence. Please reach out if you'd like to see if we are a good fit!

As your therapist, I value being fully present, understanding, and authentic as I get to know you and your goals. I am currently a SWC (Clinical Social Worker Candidate) who received my MSW from University of Denver and Bachelor’s in Psychology from CU Boulder. I have experience working with all age groups and have found passion for building a therapeutic relationship with my clients that feels safe, engaging, and real. I primarily use EMDR with clients and am trained in EMDR and flash technique. Some of the other theories and interventions I enjoy and work from include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems and Trauma Focused. I believe that all humans deserve a place to process and navigate the challenges of life and I hope to create that space during my sessions. I understand that finding a therapist can be a challenge, so I hope to chat with you to make sure that you feel I am a good fit.
Do you ever feel like you’re constantly bracing for something to go wrong - even when things seem fine on the surface? Or like you’re stuck in patterns that you can’t explain but feel impossible to break? If you've found your way here, it's likely because you're carrying a burden that's become too heavy to bear alone. I help young professionals, college students, teens, & children harness the power of authenticity to experience growth and healing from past traumas, reclaim their vitality & peace, and create lasting connection to themselves & others. I am an LCSW and offer clinical supervision. My areas of expertise include anxiety + perfectionism, PTSD + grief, and relationships. I have specialized training in EMDR, IFS, & Synergetic Play Therapy. In sessions, we will prioritize building a trusting relationship, as this is the cornerstone of healing. I am a wife and mama to two energetic little humans who fill my cup daily. When I’m not therapist-ing, I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, yoga, painting, being in nature, playing board games, and having living room dance parties. I aim to create a space where you can show up as your full and genuine self, while I do the same. If you are looking for a collaborative and compassionate approach to healing, consider scheduling a free 15 min. consultation. It would be an honor to walk alongside you on this journey of healing.
Hi there! I work with high achievers suffering from burnout, people pleasing, codependency, and difficult family relationships. My clients are ones who tend to struggle with boundaries and are perpetually exhausted but are not sure why. They are strivers, but they never feel like they are good enough or that they are seen for who they really are. They struggle with anxiety and their stress is, at times, overwhelming. Most of all, my clients want to not feel this way anymore. They are ready for change.
I have worked with hundreds of University students over the years supporting ADHD, anxiety, panic and depression as well as bipolar and other psychotic or early psychotic symptoms that can emerge around early adulthood. I take the time to listen and we make a treatment plan based on the whole you in the world, not just your symptoms. I have decades of experience as an herbalist and natural healthcare provider and this perspective deeply informs my practice. I work hard to prescribe accurately and with the lowest doses and fewest medications possible. I am a safe space provider for any gender, sexuality, religious or political affiliation. Come as you are, Im excited to meet you.

Are you looking for an experienced clinician who believes in the healing power of support and that we all deserve a life of value, even if we haven't solved all the pain and problems in our lives? There may be a part of you that tries to convince you that it’s not going to work, that your situation is too much or not enough or that clinicians just don’t know how to help you. The things you or your family have done to cope with pain or trauma or grief have now become problems too. Very often, we do these these thing to protect ourselves, because we care. Another part of you, even if it’s small, hopes for the opportunity to be understood, to be able to be transparent and to be appreciated for who you are in this moment. In my 20+ clinical years, I have truly seen miracles happen, even in the most complex situations. The work we do together will allow for emotions to be worked through, learn how to build a network of support and the practicing of advanced, evidenced based skills and processes to move towards and into a life worth living. I would be honored to be your guide.
