Therapists for college students near Boulder, CO
We are a group of clinicians who believe you can become your best self, even if we need to venture out of the comfort of what we know to get there. We know change is hard, and will walk with you every step of the way. We utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Techniques (MBSR), Eclectic Therapy, and Compassion based treatment modalities to work through your life's circumstances. We also come from strengths based and person centered approaches to tackle the situations you might be facing.
As we grow and face the world, so too grows the number of challenges and responsibilities we face. And with this increase comes the possibility for new anxieties, new depression, and new traumas to arise. Often we can be left feeling unprepared because life rarely gives us a roadmap to dealing with these complex issues. Therapy can be a daunting task, but that doesn't mean it's not a good thing. Seeking help is the first step to starting a positive change and it is only once we embrace that change that we can reach a happier and healthier place. If you've been struggling more often then not, I encourage you to reach out. Whether it's just needing a safe place to talk about life's stressors, building coping skills, seeking solutions, or beginning to work on long held traumas, we will work together to face these issues as a team.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) and a graduate of CU Denver’s Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. I am a member of the Green Cross Academy of Traumatology and a certified Compassion Fatigue Educator, Compassion Fatigue Practitioner, and Field Traumatologist. In previous lives, I have worked with college students in South Asia, in adult ESL and refugee resettlement, and in a working windmill in my hometown of Holland, Michigan.

You might feel torn between what you want and what everyone else expects from you. You try to make the right choices, keep the peace, and be there for everyone, yet you are left feeling anxious, guilty, and unsure of your own needs. I work with women who feel stuck in relationships, career decisions, and life transitions, and who want to understand themselves more clearly and set healthier boundaries. My work is grounded in CBT, Mindfulness, EMDR, strengths-based therapy, and Trauma Informed care. I pay close attention to the mind-body connection because it often reveals what words cannot. Our goal is to help you feel more like yourself, more confident in your decisions, and more connected to what you truly want. I show up with honesty, compassion, and a little humor. I will support you, challenge you, and call out the patterns that keep showing up so you can stay focused on what matters to you. Dr. Rademan starts treatment with a thorough and detailed inventory of life experiences that could be contributing to current concerns. She also explores body pain and chronic health concerns as those can be impacted by trauma and emotional wounding. Just like with physical health, mental health can be impacted by earlier 'injuries' that flare up later in life. Many people have been in and out of therapy throughout their life and haven't found sustained relief due to not healing the root issue or concern. At the foundation of treatment, Dr. Rademan utilizes a trauma and cognitive focused framework. Trauma is not only major violence or death, but can also be a loss of a relationship, not getting your needs met when you were a child, or ongoing major stressors. Trauma can be described as anything that significantly changed the way you view yourself or the world.

I specialize in helping individuals recovery from eating disorders, disordered eating, compulsive/obligatory exercise, body image distress and associated anxiety and depression. I practice virtually in Colorado so accessing counseling is flexible and convenient. I understand the challenges of academic rigor at Mines and have worked with many Mines students -undergrad and grad. Fun fact: I majored in Chemistry and decided in the end I was more interested in people than molecules. I've been supporting people in eating recovery for over a decade. My clients tend to find me approachable, non-judgmental, and action oriented.
Need a place to explore your identity? Need support around microaggressions you have been experiencing? You may be in need of a non-judgmental healing space to process the daily stressors that come with holding oppressed identities. You deserve to feel empowered and supported. I am Black, non-binary, and queer. These identities inform my practice. I utilize a trauma-informed, social justice lens to look at client concerns in a wholistic manner taking into account systems of oppression, and experiences of trauma. I want my clients to see and value the strengths that they themselves hold.
You deserve a therapist who understands your life in all its complexity. My clients are individuals and couples working through anxiety, depression, grief, identity questions, and strain in their relationships. Many have struggled to find a therapist who can help them feel comfortable exploring more challenging parts of their lives. A lot of my work is with men who learned early that self-reliance was supposed to be enough. I also specialize in working with LGBTQ+ clients and with people exploring nonmonogamy and kink. I want that to be a place of affirmation, not something you have to explain or defend. My approach is grounded in Internal Family Systems. I'm a Certified IFS therapist and have served as a teaching assistant for the IFS Institute. IFS meets the parts of you that feel stuck with curiosity instead of judgment. I also draw on CBT, psychodynamic, and relational work. Before this, I spent a decade in business, government, and nonprofits. That background gives me a feel for the real-world pressures people carry into the room. Reaching out is often the hardest part. Whether you're feeling stuck or just ready to understand yourself better, I'd be glad to talk. I see clients virtually across New York, New Jersey, and Colorado, and I offer a free 15-minute consultation.

Therapy can help you get untangled from old stories, old ways of being that are sabotaging you from living a life you love. You give so much of yourself to others, leaving you feeling depleted and empty inside. You stay busy. You keep caring, doing, and giving to others believing that how you show up for others will make you feel like enough. But it hasn’t, instead there is an urge to distract, stay busy and avoid your self. Believing ‘If I focus on others or on tasks things will get better. I will eventually give enough or do enough to be happy with myself.’ But when will time alone ever feel okay, comfortable, or safe? My professional training and life experiences have led to my empowering focused approach to therapy to help my clients as they navigate these challenges. I help my clients overcome narrations and self-sabotaging beliefs that are leaving them stuck in the same cycle to create a balancing and rewarding life where they realize their own worth. If you are ready to take the next step I offer free 15-minute phone consults where we can find out if I am the therapist who is the right fit for you and your needs. If you are not ready for a phone consult, I invite you to browse my website to get to know me more through there and I hope to chat with you soon.
