I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 25 years of experience working with transitional-age youth and adults adjusting to significant life transitions such as leaving home, attending college, building careers, beginning or ending relationships, parenthood, empty nest, and retirement. Much of my training has been in contemporary psychodynamic theory,  relational theory and strength-based models. For over seven years, I worked in a Bay Area high school with high-risk youth, which gave me a deep understanding of how the experiences of adolescents impact our lives and shape our identity.  I also have over 8 years of experience working with law students as they navigate law school, the bar exam, and the first few years of their careers. I use an integrated approach to best meet the needs of each individual client. I aim to create a safe and supportive environment for clients to make positive and lasting change.

Do you feel controlled by anxiety or OCD? Feeling like you have to constantly seek reassurance or perform rituals to feel better? These disorders operate on what is called a Vicious Cycle: 1) encounter trigger/obsessive thought 2) experience distress 3) engage in compulsions or safety behavior/s, which leads to 4) relief. The frustrating part about this cycle is that the relief is short-lived. Before you know it, the obsessive fear and compulsions are back, taking up more time and mental resources to cope. The good news is that together, we can end the cycle and find long-term relief. Treating OCD and Anxiety disorders require specialized training and experience. I have trained under internationally recognized psychologists, Dr. Jenny Yip and Dr. Eda Gorbis. I have worked with clients at all levels of care, including IOP, PHP, and outpatient. Currently, I provide individual and family outpatient treatment for those aged 10+, in person and via telehealth. I know therapy can be a challenging endeavor, that's why I aim to cultivate a warm and collaborative therapeutic environment, where we can defeat your OCD and Anxiety together! Feel free to reach out for a complimentary 30-minute consultation.

The backbone of my work is relational – meaning, the relationship between us is at the core of therapy. My training and experience have led me to believe that therapy is not "one size fits all", nor is it one therapist fits all. I will approach your situation, open to discovering what kind of therapeutic relationship will work for you at this time. I have training and experience in the following methods: CBT, Trauma Focused CBT, PCIT, and Narrative Therapy. After a thorough assessment, I typically like to collaborate with clients on the method that would work best considering the symptoms. In a typical session, clients can expect to feel heard and validated while tackling goals towards a happier life.

I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Everlight Teens, Adults & Family Therapy with over a decade of experience supporting diverse communities. I’ve had the privilege of working with teens, adults, and adolescents, helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges with compassion, understanding, and evidence-based care. As an Individual Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (ICBT), I help clients understand how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. Together, we’ll identify unhelpful patterns and develop practical strategies to build healthier coping skills and create lasting, positive change. I specialize in supporting clients experiencing anxiety, depression, and trauma. I have extensive experience working with individuals from underserved and diverse backgrounds, those who have faced complex trauma, homelessness, and substance use challenges. My focus is to help each person build resilience, foster healing, and find fulfillment. I bring kindness, compassion, and respect to every session. I view therapy as a collaborative process where we work together toward your goals. My approach is transparent and supportive. Over the years, I’ve witnessed the incredible strength and resilience of those who choose to seek help, and I feel honored to be part of that healing process. Our first session is about understanding your challenges and what you hope to change. Together, we’ll set the pace, identify obstacles, and create a clear growth plan, so you feel confident and supported throughout your journey.

My practice was an oddity before COVID. Now it just makes sense. I meet most of my clients outdoors, on the hiking trails of the Berkeley and Oakland Redwoods. I of course also work with people online, too, but prefer to at least meet once or twice a month in-person: webcams are quite convenient, but still a 2D version of ourselves; it's definitely not ideal for the sort of conversational depth & breadth that we may embark on together. Put more plainly: Talking about the most stressful, anxiety producing, depressing, &/or shame-inducing stuff is best done in person, not online. Take a look at my website to get more of a feel for whether my practice may be a fit for you, and of course, don't hesitate to send an email or txt msg if you have questions: 415.823.1760

Hi, I’m glad you found me! Life can be so stressful and maybe you’ve been experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, symptoms of past trauma, grief and loss, chronic pain, or another current challenge. I want to help create a safe space where we can work through it together. I use my training and experience for a trauma-informed and compassionate approach. I often work with individuals who identify as caretakers, highly sensitive, people pleasers, and perfectionists. Give yourself the much needed self-care and send me an email so we can talk more about what’s been coming up for you. Getting started can be hard, but I’m here to be with you every step of the way.
